The touch sensor is sensitive enough that you won't have to modify the exterior shell at all.

Can be placed anywhere in the against the outer wall - I usually locate it on the top side, front half, right corner.

Included is a 470uF capacitor which can be installed to reduce noise.

You will need some extra wire to install this product!
